Marcus Daly Hospice

Learn More About Our Hospice Facility

We offer compassion, comfort and support to individuals and their families living with incurable illnesses so they may live as fully and independently as they choose.

We provide an interdisciplinary team approach in the treatment of our patients, and deliver this care with compassion and understanding while meeting the needs of the patient, the caregiver and the family.

We are committed to providing the highest quality of care and service to our patients regardless of the patient’s age, sex, race, color, handicap, religion or national origin.

The modern hospice is not a place, a building, or an institution; it is a concept. It is a collection of ideas and attitudes based on a holistic philosophy of living and dying. Its goal is to prolong meaningful and quality living, not postpone or prolong dying.

The goal of all hospice care is palliation, or the alleviation of suffering, in whatever forms that may take. Palliative Care is the medical cornerstone of hospice.
It is relief of physical pain and other disturbing symptoms through the sophisticated use of state-of-the-art pharmacological and other pain- and symptom-control techniques. The object is to balance analgesia with alertness -- to relieve pain without causing drowsiness. Patients can get on with controlling their remaining life, time, and choices as much as possible.

A growing number of patients throughout the Bitterroot Valley choose to receive hospice care in their home by the Marcus Daly Hospice professionals such as nurses and clergy to provide for physical and emotional needs. We are fortunate that Marcus Daly Hospice also has a residence located in Hamilton, for terminally ill patients when the care needs can no longer be met in the home.
