Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital understands that coping with critical illness in a loved one is far from easy, and as well as looking after their medical needs we will do our best to help you through this difficult time.
The ICU is a specialized area treatment of people with a life-threatening illness or condition. Visitors are limited to allow the person to get the rest he or she needs. Patient or family members should feel free to ask questions.
Many different people may be involved in the care of a person in the ICU. Doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists, technical assistants, people who draw blood, and housekeepers may all come into the room at different times. The ICU is not the best place to sleep. These people all work together, however, to provide the best care available in modern medicine.
