Progression at your local HOSPITAL The past 20 years, your hospital has made enormous strides to deliver personalized, accessible, quality healthcare. There are two primary reasons for the success and advancement of this hospital the Medical Staff and the employees who are dedicated and devoted to your hospital. In 1987, the Medical Staff consisted of eight physicians. Today, we have 31 physicians on the Active Medical Staff. During the same period of time, the hospital has seen growth in its workforce from 80 employees to 485 employees. You will not find a more dedicated, compassionate group of people providing for your healthcare needs in this valley. Challenges we face at the hospital include not only the continual investment in our workforce, but also the new technology and future physical structure needs of our hospital. Today we are constructing a new Emergency Department facility, which is the first phase of a six phase master facility plan. In the near future, the hospital will be rolling out for your review plans for Phase Two – a rehab center. Within the past 18 months the following state-of-the-art technology necessary to provide the quality of care our patients deserve has been purchased for the Imaging (Radiology) Department: a General Electric 64 slice CT (Computer Tomography) Scan, a General Electric digital mammography with CAD (Computer Assisted Detection), a Siemens Ultrasound, a General Electric Radiographic Fluoroscopy unit, a General Electric C-Arm (mobile fluoroscopy unit) for use in the Operating Room, and a PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System). Over the past two years, physicians and hospital employees have been working to create an electronic medical record. The work they have completed will allow the nursing staff to begin electronically documenting in the patient medical records in March. We are proud to be a rural critical care hospital that is growing with a forward thinking board of directors and community groups and individual citizens who support our efforts to be a cutting-edge medical provider in the Bitterroot Valley. Sincerely, John M. Bartos CEO |
