Volunteering at Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital
Volunteers Are the The Heart of Our Service!
Like any other staff member, our volunteers play an important role in Marcus
Daly Memorial Hospital’s mission to provide quality, accessible,
and personalized healthcare in Bitterroot Valley. Our volunteers gain
meaningful experience with hospital work. Our comprehensive volunteer
training program prepares participants for what’s expected of them
and gives the first-hand knowledge of what it’s like to work in
the medical field.
During training, you will learn ways you can provide patient support, assist
families, and engage in the community to lend a helping hand. Volunteers
work in several hospital departments, including the hospice, providing
a prime opportunity for developing the social skills necessary for medical work.
Some of the opportunities available for volunteers include:
- Supporting hospice patients
- Clerking at the hospital gift shop
- Working at the information desk
- Assisting with blood drives
- Organizing fund-raising events
