Why did you go into medicine? Why did you choose your particular field?

I worked as a Labor and Delivery nurse prior to becoming a doctor, and I love taking care of pregnant women and sharing their special time.

What are some of your clinical interests?

Obstetrics, office Gynecology, birth control, STD testing.

What do you love about practicing medicine?

I love the health care connection with women during their lives, and the ability to help solve concerns and problems that occasionally arise.

What is your philosophy of care?

Provide the highest quality of health care throughout the life span of our patients.

What do you most want people to know about the way you practice medicine?

I treat each patient as an individual, with basic needs for health care, without regard for race, color, age, economic status, or physical disability.

What can your patients expect during an appointment?

Honest answers to questions, caring, compassion, and encouragement to participate in decisions regarding care.

What do you wish you could tell every patient (and they would actually do) and why?

Take care of your body, it is the only one you have. Exercise and eat right, use sunscreen, get your screening exams done (pap smears, mammograms, health check ups).

What have your patients taught you?

There is such diversity among humans.

Who is someone you admire, and why?

My mother and father, they taught me to work hard and care about my community and country.

What brought you to the Bitterroot Valley?

I love the mountains, and enjoy outdoor activities.

What do you enjoy about living and working in a small community like ours?

Getting to know the people, and community, and of course the Farmers Market.

Living in such a close-knit community, how do you create a successful work–life balance?

Go horseback riding anytime I can.

What are some of your non-professional interests and favorite hobbies?

Horseback riding, walking the dogs, camping, and gardening.

Is there anything about you that might surprise people?

I have a degree in Forestry, Nursing, and MD.

What would be your personal motto?

Carpe Diem (Seize the Day).

Do you have pets?

Four horses, two dogs, two cats, twenty-five chickens, and two baby bunnies.
