Marcus Daly Hospice Services
End-of-Life Care in Ravalli County
Marcus Daly Hospice offers comfort, care and dignity for patients and their families facing the end of life.
Our Hospice team works with our patient and their primary caregivers, to provide comfort, education, and individualized care needs patients have at any time. Our goal is to make this time as peaceful as possible for patients and their families, helping with the transition and acceptance that life eventually leads to death.
We adhere to the Hospice philosophy of care which focuses on comfort and quality of life, so patients can live as meaningfully and independently as possible in their home, surrounded by those they love.
For more information on what Hospice Care is, visit the National Hospice Organization website or call us to schedule a meeting with one of our knowledgeable Hospice team members.
Our Hospice Services
A plan of care developed by you, your family, your medical provider and
the hospice team will specify the services to be provided. The goal of
hospice is to manage the symptoms of your illness (not cure it) and assist
you in making the most of the time you have left. Services provided may include:
- Nurse Aide
- Social Work
- Physical Therapy
- Occupational Therapy
- Speech Therapy
- Medical Equipment and Supplies
- Inpatient Care
- Respite Care
- Grief and Loss Counseling
- Volunteer Support
- Spiritual Support
A Care Plan That Works for You
Marcus Daly Hospice services are provided wherever you reside, whether
that be in your own home, a skilled nursing facility or assisted living
community. The condition of the patient and their available support system
both play an important role in determining where the patient will be the
most comfortable receiving care.
Care in the Home
When Hospice care is received in the home, the patient must have the support
of a primary caregiver, as Hospice does not provide 24 hour care in the
home. Our Hospice care providers and volunteers will make regular visits
to provide direct patient care, educate and assist caregivers to enhance
the patient’s quality of life in any way possible.
Care in Skilled Nursing or Assisted Living Facilities
When a patient resides in a skilled nursing or assisted living facility,
primary care will be provided by facility staff with regular visits and
support from our Hospice team members.
Respite and General Inpatient Stays
There may be occasions when your caregivers need time for time away or
you need more intensive medical care than what can be provided outside
the hospital setting. For these situations, the Hospice Care Team may
recommend a stay at Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital.
