Marcus Daly Laboratory
Clinical Labs in Ravalli County
Welcome to the Marcus Daly Laboratory Department. Our primary lab has been
conveniently relocated to a central location within the hospital to allow
for better communication and faster turnaround. We also manage many multiple
satellite locations throughout Ravalli County so local residents can have
access to a convenient location close to home.
The Marcus Daly Laboratory Team is comprised of ten scientists, each having
their Bachelor of Science degree, as well as a support team highly-skilled
in customer service, specimen processing, and phlebotomy. The Laboratory’s
Medical Director is a Pathologist who provides bi-monthly onsite reviews,
is available for consultation, and assists the
Imaging Department with fine needle aspirations. Collectively, the Marcus Daly Laboratory
team has over 200 years of experience. Each clinical team member has a
National Registry certification by either the American Society of Clinical
Pathology (ASCP) or the American Medical Technologists (AMT).
What Does a Clinical Lab Do?
Where did the blood sample go that I gave in the doctor's office? How
did my doctor diagnose my disease? How did my doctor confirm that my cholesterol
was high or my thyroid was not working or that I was having a baby? These
are just a few of the issues addressed by the Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital
laboratory.
The Laboratory team works together while operating sophisticated technology
and instruments to determine confirm, rule out, or aid in a diagnosis.
They also provide specimen testing and can help monitor treatment to ensure
it is working as expected.
Our lab technicians are medical professionals who work quickly and precisely.
The information they give to the medical provider influences 70% of the
medical treatment a patient receives. They are vital members of the health
care team, and play a critical role in collecting the information needed
to give the best care to a sick or injured patient.
