Interventional Pain Management available in Hamilton, MT

Comprehensive interventions to relieve chronic pain.

Patients experiencing chronic pain for at least 30 to 60 days are candidates for Interventional Pain Management. It is a medical subspecialty that treats pain with invasive interventions by interrupting the pain signals along the specific nervous system pathways, through the use of injections and nerve blocks. These interventions are performed by board-certified and nonsurgical pain management expert, Matt Stokes, DNP, CRNA, NSPM-C in the Marcus Daly Surgery Center.

How Interventional Pain Procedures Work:

Patients receive a physical assessment at the Bitterroot Pain Management clinic to determine the pain location on the body and type of interventional treatment. A follow up visit is scheduled two weeks after the procedure.

  • Physical Assessments and Follow-Up visits take place at Bitterroot Pain Management
  • Pain Procedure performed in the Marcus Daly Surgery Center
  • Most pain procedures include either ultrasound or fluoroscopic guidance
    • Spinal injections take on average only 10 to 15 minutes to perform while using state-of-the-art fluoroscopy (x-ray guidance).

Sacral/Coccygeal

  • Caudal Epidural Steroid Injection
  • S1 Transforaminal Epidural Steroid Injection

Lumbar/Lumbosacral/Thoracic

  • Interlaminar Epidural Steroid Injection
  • Transforaminal Epidural Steroid Injection
  • Zygapophysial (Facet) Intraarticular Joint Injection
  • Zygapophysial (Facet) Joint Medial Branch Injection & Radiofrequency Neurotomy
  • Lumbar Sympathetic Block
  • Intercostal Nerve Injection

Cervical

  • Interlaminar Epidural Steroid Injection
  • Transforaminal Epidural Steroid Injection
  • Zygapophysial (Facet) Intraarticular Joint Injection
  • Zygapophysial (Facet) Joint Medial Branch Injection & Radiofrequency Neurotomy
  • Greater Occipital Nerve Steroid Injection – at C2 dorsal root with ultrasound guidance

Knee/Shoulder

  • Genicular Nerve Injections & Radiofrequency Neurotomy
  • Good treatment option for an individual that is not a surgical candidate or is delaying surgical intervention
  • Shoulder Nerves Radiofrequency Neurotomy
  • Good treatment option for an individual that is not a surgical candidate or is delaying surgical intervention
