Balance & Vestibular Rehabilitation
Treatment for Balance Disorders in Ravalli County
The body’s vestibular system, more commonly known as the balance
system, maintains your sense of direction by organizing and interpreting
signals from the eyes and ears. Like any other bodily function, the vestibular
system is susceptible to malfunctions, which can impact your ability to
walk, run, or even stand up straight. Not only is this disorienting; it
can also result in serious injury if you experience symptoms while driving
your car or walking near a busy street.
MDMH Rehabilitation services offers a comprehensive balance and vestibular
training program. People most appropriate for the program include anyone
experiencing dizziness, vertigo, imbalance, gait instability, falls or
fear of falling.
Some common vestibular disorders that can be treated may include:
- BPPV
- Vestibular neuronitis
- Meniere’s Disease
- Motion intolerance
- Unilateral or bilateral peripheral vestibular dysfunction
At MDMH, a specially trained therapist will assess the needs of each patient
seeking treatment for balance or vestibular problems. All patients receive
education, balance and vestibular exercises and strategies to help them
reach their full potential.
