Evidence-Based Treatment for Neurological Disorders

Neurological disorders take many forms, and can be caused by Injuries, infections, degenerative diseases, structural defects, and tumors that can impair the nervous system. Some of the conditions that may benefit from neurological rehabilitation may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Stroke
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Peripheral neuropathy
  • Spinal cord injury
  • Traumatic brain injury
  • Vestibular dysfunction
  • Movement disorders (Parkinson's disease, dystonia, ataxia, ALS)
  • Dizziness

Neurologic rehabilitation is a highly individualized treatment that works to address the specific needs of each patient. We work one-on-one with patients so that everyone gets the personalized attention they need.

The outpatient neurological rehabilitation program provides physical, occupational and/or speech therapy to patients. These services are evidence-based with an emphasis on patient involvement for continued health and injury prevention and may include:

  • Movement retraining
  • Balance training
  • Functional training
  • Gait training
  • Manual therapy
  • Vestibular/Dizziness rehabilitation programs
  • Speech therapy to help patients with speaking, reading, writing, or swallowing
  • Concussion management
  • Activities to improve cognitive impairments, such as problems with concentration, attention, memory, and poor judgment
