Bartos retiring as CEO of Marcus Daly Hospital; new CEO from Oregon will start in May

After 30 years at its helm, Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital Chief Executive Officer John Bartos will step down at the end of June.

Bartos’ retirement was announced Thursday to the more than 500 people employed by the hospital.

“He’s done a great job over the last 30 years,” said Hospital Board Chair Bill Bean. “He understands it’s time to step back and be with his family and enjoy them.”

The board has been working to find Bartos’ replacement since he told the board six months ago about his plans to retire.
