Last week, Dr. Anthony Navone began a discussion on atrial fibrillation,
also known as A-fib. The condition is the most common type of arrhythmia
that doctors address. An arrhythmia is a problem with the rate or rhythm
of the heartbeat. During an arrhythmia, the heart can beat too fast, too
slow, or with an irregular rhythm. Dr. Navone’s column concludes today.
Atrial fibrillation also is more common in people who are having heart
attacks or who have just had heart surgery.
Certain factors also can raise your risk for A-fib.
