Colors of Cancer: Hamilton teacher battles Stage III breast cancer

Hamilton teacher Echo Allison is on a journey to beat Stage III breast cancer.

She teaches gifted students in kindergarten through fourth grade at Daly Elementary School and like every great teacher she is using life’s teachable moments.

“The more awareness we have out there the better off we are,” Allison said.

She said she draws inspiration from her aunt who went through cancer and calls cancer a “temporary inconvenience.”

“Cancer impacts your life for a time,” Allison said. “This is the first time in 30 years I’ve not purchased a Lost Trail ski season pass, that’s a big disappointment, but it is not forever. Next year I’ll be back.”
